Service Improvement Program for Water and Wastewater Systems in the Gaza Strip: This World Bank/Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) Project was intended to provide technical and financial assistance to the various municipalities and other agencies involved in the development, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems and facilities. The major tasks of the project included capital investments to upgrade existing system component and construct new ones, develop and enhance institutions structures and capacities through training and human resources development and ultimately establish a regional utility responsible for the water sector in the entire coastal region.
