Palestine Environmental Emergency Response Contingency Plan: Developing environmental emergency response capabilities in Palestine in three phases: I) National and regional contingency plan; II) Institutional and capacity building plan; and III) Equipment and training. Activities was carried out by ECODIT of USA and CEP. Phase I involved assessment of opportunities and preparation of recommendations for a National and Regional Contingency Plan in Palestine. In Phase II, the work team assisted the Ministry of Environmental Affairs (MEnA) to establish an Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and assessed capacity building needs (equipment and training) to support the emergency planning process launched in Phase I. During Phase III, ECODIT and CEP helped strengthen Palestinian emergency response capabilities through the targeted supply of basic emergency response equipment.
