Support of an Independent Auditor in the CPS 1167 Competition "SUNREF Palestine"

Project Overview

This project focused on providing support to the Independent Auditor in the context of the "Sustainable Use for Natural Resources and Energy Financing" (SUNREF) program, a blended finance mechanism developed by AFD and the European Union. With a total fund of EUR 33 million, SUNREF aimed to support innovative green investments in Palestine through environmental credit lines for local financial institutions. The role of the Verification Consultant (VC) was to ensure that the sub-projects funded by SUNREF were successfully completed and met their environmental and financial targets.

Role of CEP in the project

Supported the independent auditor in verifying that SUNREF sub-projects were completed according to their investment plans and met the expected objectives and targets.

Monitored the progress of various projects under the SUNREF program, ensuring alignment with the program’s sustainability goals.

Provided expert guidance to ensure the accurate capitalization of results from the funded projects and maintained documentation to meet auditing requirements.

Collaborated with AFD, Tractebel Engineering S.A., and CEP to ensure that the sub-projects contributed effectively to the program's overall success in Palestine.
