Project Overview

This consultancy assignment focused on conducting a comprehensive market analysis of four selected sectors in Gaza Strip, using a value chain approach. The key objective was to identify market opportunities that enhanced self-reliance and economic resilience by leveraging local resources and meeting internal demand. The analysis would specifically explore opportunities for import substitution, job creation, and sustainable long-term employment, with an emphasis on benefiting vulnerable populations. Furthermore, the assessment would examine how to promote green and circular economy practices, such as recycling and reusing, contributing to a more sustainable local economy.

Role of CEP in the project

Assessing Market Opportunities: Identifying growth areas in the local market and analyzing value chains to promote import substitution and enhance local production capacity.

Fostering Economic Resilience: Evaluating potential sectors to strengthen Gaza's self-reliance, reducing dependence on imports while supporting local businesses.

Supporting Job Creation: Highlighting opportunities that could lead to sustainable, long-term employment, especially for vulnerable groups.

Promoting Sustainability: Incorporating green economy strategies, such as recycling and circular economy principles, to ensure long-term environmental sustainability in Gaza's economy.
